system has halted

my laptop computer is acer aspire 3620, i just upgrade from windows xp to windows 7.
after upgrading i stared to hear like "scratching noise" and the blues screen appears it says
"NMI : parity check/Memory parity erro
*** the system has halted***
and i restart it again and its seems normal and main while i try to install app... the problem appeared again and again.
 
what shall i do

that is a very old laptop, probably only 512 MB RAm installed
you should upgrade to 1GB, or better 2 GB if possible

but personally, i would just buy a new one - if the budget allows it
windows 7 will not run comfortably on it
