mc9090 problem with pocket internet explorer

We have multiple MC9090s used for mobile warehouse management. the WMS runs in a web browser so it is accessed though pocket internet explorer.
Because there seems to be a remembered user and password on the device and the user and password is unknown the device will not access the main intranet web page. Therefore the devices are useless. When you go to the page you get " database log in failed", "an invalid username\password caused log in to the database to fail, verify the username and password." But there is no way to do so. I have Googled my fingers to the bone for a week and am through. Guess I will toss them in the trash.
The software vendor says its not their fault (of coarse) but never the less I have two useless mc9090 devices.
its a matter of time until employees figure out that all they have to do is enter a bogus password and click remember and the devices are rendered useless. They will say:"I cant do my job, IT cant get the scanners working, we will be outside smoking cigarettes if you figure it out"
clearing cache, cookies, temp files etc... does not help. Anybody know how to fix these? I don't know how to set them back to factory. a cold boot doesn't do it.
