Setting up WiFi for web access only, using a VLAN
Hi,
Our school network's hardware can handle VLANs, but we currently have everyone on the same subnet (192.168.1.0 - 255.255.255.0). We now want to add a second VLAN with web access only, for WiFi use as in diagram:
I'm just wondering how to go about this and have some questions:
If I have a WAP connected to each switch, I presume that's a matter of configuring each switch to operate the same VLAN on the ports to which the WAPs are connected?
Should the VLAN be configured on the switches only, or also on the Sonicwall router?
Is there anything VLAN-related to configure on the WAP?
Does it matter that the switches have dynamic IPs issued by Sonicwall or should they be static?
Thanks in advance!
