Secure mobile phones

We have a client who is interested in the most secure mobile phone for communication of email, voice and sms. Also, their employees use Gmail and other consumer apps on their phones and if a way these communications could be safe that would be great too, otherwise they will just block the installation

I've heard of Blackphone and I know Blackberry have done some work with secure smart and phantom (although we don't want to deploy bes)

Any others or recommendations?

Blackberry IS the best phone for this purpose, so far as I know.
Assuming the iPhones are using email ports which encrypt the email (995 and 587), use SMS sparingly and for non-critical communications, and use Cellular for voice calls (not Wi-Fi) then iPhones are reasonably secure. so some user care may be what you need.

if you knew the case that FBD demanded that Apple create a custom version of iOS which would allow them to crack into iPhones, you would know how secure the current iOS/iPhone is, at least FBI couldn't hack a well encrypted iPhone using their ways.

From what I've been reading on the Internet , the top choices seem to be

Blackphone 2
Blackberry consumer devices (Priv, DTEK)
Blackberry secureSmart
Samsung KNOX

Any others?
So far that will be the official one.

For info - you can see some evaluated for public sector usage as reference too. For e.g. AUS DSD (see Mobile Products- BB 10 under evaulation) http://www.asd.gov.au/infosec/epl/index.php
Another mentioned is Samsung Galaxy Devices on Android 6 - below is the assessment of the National Information Assurance Partnership (NIAP) validation team.
The validators suggest that the consumer pay particular attention to the evaluated configuration of the device(s). The functionality evaluated is scoped exclusively to the security functional requirements specified in the Security Target, and only the functionality implemented by the SFR’s within the Security Target was evaluated. All other functionality provided by the devices, to include software that was not part of the evaluated configuration, needs to be assessed separately and no further conclusions can be drawn about their effectiveness.
Furthermore, the evaluation includes several KNOX-specific claims that apply to a KNOX container when created, which requires purchase of an additional license.

Of that list, I would stay with BlackBerry for sure
