Trident and Apple iOS upgrade

We have a BYOD estate that's fairly large, approx 3000 devices, mainly iOS.

We enforce a minimum iOS version of 8 via our MAM software. That is, of the user isn't running iOS 8 or above, the corporate applications won't activate and run. So far, 70% of users have upgraded to 9.3.5

When Trident was released, we advised users to upgrade to 9.3.5. To my knowledge, there weren't any devices running iOS 8 and higher that couldn't be upgraded.

On Monday, we were planning to block anyone not running iOS 9.3.5 from running corporate applications.

I'm wondering what we do with the news that iOS 10 is out on Tuesday.

We could either

1. Carry on with enforcing 9.3.5 on Monday. Anyone not running this version, will be forced to upgrade if they want to use corporate apps.

2. Wait until Wednesday to enforce minimum OS version. This way, users will need to upgrade to ios10

I'm thinking option 1 is better since not everyone will want to use ios10 necessarily , which is what option 2 forces

Any comments?
