Hello,

I am not sure if this is even possible but is there a tool/software that we can use to discover what software is installed in our network (servers.) We have a virtual environment and I would like something that would discover if we have software like backup exex, mcafee, office, etc...

Thank you in advance.

Hi,

you can use Microsoft Assessment and Planning Toolkit (MAPS). It is free and relatively easy to use.
https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb977556.aspx

There are some prereq. mostly regarding user account and firewall, but is not that hard to complete.
It can scan servers, workstations, VM, etc... Will also give you hardware spec as well.

Regards,
Ivan.
