I have noticed that we have some email items stored in public folder. I am not sure how email got there. I am trying to delete emails from public folder but I get Access denied error. I have full control rights to the public folder.

Please share the ideas how to manage emails in public folder?

Environment :

Mail-enabled public folder?  Users dragging and dropping into the PF?

Try managing permissions of the suspect PF from Exchange.
