Putty download?

Where can I download the putty app for my laptop/desktop?  With no security issues?

But in any case, whenever you download some app and feel a bit funny about it, just pass it through virustotal:

https://www.virustotal.com/

you just upload the suspicious file, and it will run it through 45 different antivirus products, so then you can make up your mind as to if it is infected or not.

What OS?

In Linux Putty is included in the repositories of most distro's. You just need to start your package manager and install it that way.

If Windows, I would use the PortableApps version. You just install the PortableApps tool, then start it and click on "Apps", then select *Get more Apps". You can then select those apps you want to download and it will do that automatically. There is Putty and Kitty which you can choose. Kitty has a bit more functionality.

With PortableApps you are much more flexible than with the standard installed programs. Most of the software I use on Windows are PortableApps.
