I believe it's not.

MySQL Workbench is a unified visual tool for database architects, developers, and DBAs. MySQL Workbench provides data modeling, SQL development, and comprehensive administration tools for server configuration, user administration, backup, and much more. MySQL Workbench is available on Windows, Linux and Mac OS X.

web based phpmyadmin might be the option available to you. You need to have it setup on a system with access to the MySQL...

You tried which and under what circumstances? Commonly the MySQL database servers often are not (should not be exposed to the internet) with that said the mobile app will only be able to access when the device is connected to the Ian via wifi or connected via VPN.

What is the functionality that you need from these mobile apps?

We need to run a series of query during a trip and don't want to take a notebook, which of course has the MySQL Workbench.

Presumably your notebook has a VPN back to the ..
You would need to make sure that you can VPN back from your mobile before buying the mobile app.
Navicat is likely to perform, but the cost and options have to be considered as well as whether using it will do what you need.

Actually, our notebook and any other PC we have here using MySQL Workbench, don't use a VPN to connect.  We are just placing the host name in MySQL workbench and works fine.

If it's not posible to use a mobile device (iPad or android), guess we will just have to take the notebook.  We really would like to be able to connect using our mobiles.

Found a solution and free:

https://itunes.apple.com/bj/app/datafunnel-for-mysql-free/id1030233306?mt=8

With this apps we can go and work with our remote MySql databases on our mobile devices.  Though not as comfortable as using a PC computer or notebook, but got the job done.

note:
Though prior placing the question, we searched the apps store no solid options was displayed (and we tried some of them to no avail).  We started searching the web and discussing with some of our colleagues; one of our associated gave us this link.

We gave best solution to our comment because it gives a direct answer to future member with same need.  We gave points to arnold becuase when we came upon the solution it was located in iTunes.  Though the EE answer to "Search the App Store, for MySQL, navicat client seems available as a mobile app." wasn't helpful (we tried it prior placing question), the apps we came upon was found in the iTunes.
