Can the experts explain what the term fabric means in the networking context? I did some research and Wikipedia said that  a "Switched Fabric or switching fabric is a network topology in which network nodes interconnect via one or more network switches". So is it just a connection type? Thx

One of possible explanations of term network fabric, but basically switched fabric - topology made of switches.

This term can be understood as described in one of the Murphy's laws:
Mr. Coopers's law
    If you do not understand a particular word in a piece of technical writing, ignore it.
    The piece will make perfect sense without it.
