Can I safely delete the Default-ApplicationInsights-CentralUS Resource group?

Hi

Im trying to tidy up my Azure services.  One thing I am doing to moving items into resource groups.    There are a number of exiting resource groups like "Default-ApplicationInsights-CentralUS" and "Default-Web-WestUS".    I wont be using these.
Also I have a number of subscriptions and these resources appear in each subscription.   So before I start tidying up i have maybe 15 resource groups which i will never need or use.

Is it safe to delete these ?

Default resource groups were originally implemented for proper conversion from the old way of doing things when they implemented Azure resource manager. Some of the old resources in the classic portal still don't support resource manager just yet. Going forward every resource created will live in a resource group, therefore you will need a resource group when you create new resources. Long story short, deleting the existing ones will not hurt anything, it almost won't change anything at all. IT would be similar to deleting empty folders at your C:\ root directory that were there by default. IT almost won't change anything at all except the number of resource groups that you see.
