Spacing using Word 2007

Placing my cursor left of the word "later." I attempt to create a space of one character or maybe more than one character. What setting lets me use the space key to move that 2nd line to the right? Thanks.

if items are on the same line, you can use tab (set tab stops from the Paragraph format dialog box) -- press TAB to move to the next tab stop when typing User generated image
if items are on different lines/paragraphs and you wish to indent, click increase or decrease indent icons User generated imageParagraph format is stored in the paragraph marker. To show non-printing symbols, click ¶ in the Paragraph group on the Home ribbon tab

None of the above remotely solves the problem. Please do not expand on that.

I want to use the space key on my computer keyboard to move the word "later" to the right for as many spaces as I desire.
