Vmware Server ESXI 5.5 Updating to Latest from Build #1331820 to 4179633 Or 4345813
What is the best method for me to update a server running a extreme old version of VMware server ESXI 5.5 (Build #1331820) to one of the current ESXI versions.
Currently I can't just reinstall the box as it contains the client's on-site DC and a remote server running on it.
When I try do it directly from the current ESXI version I have to the latest, I get the following:
VIB VMware_bootbank_ehci-ehci- hcd_1.0-3v mw.550.3.8 9.4179633 requires xhci-xhci
>= 1.0-3vmw.550.3.89, but the requirement cannot be satisfied within the ImagePr
ofile.
Please refer to the log file for more details.
Any assistance would be appreciated.

Manage to figure out my issue and gotten my servers updated.
It seems I downloaded the latest version but it was actually a patch. I redownloaded the 3B update for ESXI which worked. I guess the one I download required me to have all the other updates before this one would work correctly.
The Build 4345813 requires you to have all the previous updates. As I just had the basic ESXI without UPDATE 1 - 3B, it wouldn't work.

In the end, I just needed it to be as updated as much as possible. It not the latest but at least it up to Update3B rather then Update 1 or none.
I didn't try your command but I will next time we do our quarterly update of ESXI now.
