Why does PowerPoint:mac 2016 not include audio when exporting to video?

Put very simply:

    Take the attached PowerPoint file:
    Audio-to-video-test.pptx

Open with PowerPoint 2016 on a PC and save as an MP4 file. The sound is heard in the video.

Open the same file in PowerPoint:mac 2016 and again, save as an MP4 file. No sound channel is present in the video file.

    Why?

Even though it marked as complete, it appears to be a known bug. You can try downloading the latest update to see if it is indeed fixed.

Thank you for your feedback! This feature is now available to all Office 365 subscribers via the June updates.

Note that it’s a known limitation in the current version that the embedded video and audio can’t playback in the exported video yet. Please vote on the request below, if the playback functionality of the embedded media files is critical to your scenario, and we’ll prioritize it accordingly:

That's a good find thank you Randy. Is that an official Microsoft site? Thanks to Microsoft for decreasing my productivity to zero for another day!
