I have an HP Officejet Pro 6230 connected via ethernet.   It goes to sleep and I have to power it back on to print to it.   How can I make it wake up when a document is sent to it?

It does not have a Wake on LAN setting.

I would remove the printer from Devices and Printers, and then open Printer Server Management (Admin tools) and remove the driver(s).  Restart the computer, and install the newest Printer package from HP.

If the printer is on a network, make sure it has a static IP address so it can be found.

Now turn the printer OFF, wait a minute, and turn it back on.  Test again.

My HP 8610 simply turns on when I need to print.
