Please list what you tried.

HP in particular has issued recent driver updates for most of their printers for Windows 10 and Server 2012

The latest driver for this was May 2016
http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/HP-OfficeJet-4650-All-in-One-Printer-series/5447930/model/5447931

That is not a colour laser however. All our HP8600 series printers work fine.

THe officejet 4650.. we got some drivers to work. but when you rdp into the 2012 server and print.. the job gets directed to the windows 10 machine.. sits in queue, then disappears.
I dont mind buying a new printer.. i could try the 8600s

I have an HP 8610 and clients with HP 8620 and 8630. These are all on Windows 10 64-bit and working reliably. They should work on Server 2012 but I have not tried that.

Dump the HP's.
Their inkjets are junk.
Go with a Brother color laser MFP.
Faster cheaper and best of all, NOT a HP.
These last for decades, not for a year or two and then you throw it away.

I HATE HP!
Lying bunch of corporate weasels.

Pick your own brand. If you like HP they work for me. I have clients with Brother printers that work.

I have many first hand horror stories for HP printers, ranging from 3 DOA 8600 in a row to $1K laser mfp that would not work with a newer M$ OS even though the printer was still shipping.

Defective print heads on the inkjets with very little use, bloated software drivers (500 meg install for a driver set?)

Never had any problems since going with Brother

Before you buy another HP ,maybe you should check out this current thread:

https://www.experts-exchange.com/questions/28972107/HP-OEM-cartridges-no-longer-working.html?anchor=a41814445#a41814445

HP has instituted DRM on their ink cartridges,so if the date expires or you buy a refill or an OEM product, they will not work.
Their tech support sucks ,their warranty sucks, their drivers suck.
Get the picture?

I highly discourage ANY HP product.
