Server 2012 R2 Remote Desktop Services move

Several years ago, the previous IT setup a single server RDS solution (Connection Broker, Session Host, Gateway, Licensing etc on one box). We have experienced performance issue using this setup. When users connect to the RDP during peak time, we are getting disconnections.

What is the best way to move the core services to a new server, leaving the old server as a second RD Session Host so I don't have to recreate the user profiles there?

Don't bother, just add a new session host on the new server

I want to move RD Web Access, RD Gateway and RD Licensing to the new server. This would not be a session host.

I would like the old server to continue as the primary session host, then maybe another new server as additional session host.

moving the licensing server is not for the faint of heart. https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd851591(v=ws.11).aspx

What you want to move are low impact items

This adds more compute resources for when the demand is high
