I have no idea what PIN I used, and presume my only option is to reinstall the OS.

Is that true?

If so, what do I do now?

I think your only choices are to try really hard to remember your PIN or do a factory reset. The latter will lose everything you have on your tablet, so maybe try really hard to remember? Maybe try relying on muscle memory. This might help too: http://www.wikihow.com/Remember-Something-That-You-Forgot (Method 1 only)

(Not a sarcastic post. I'd really like you to be able to recall the PIN instead of having to reset.)

Good hunting!

Did you end up remembering or did you have to reset it?

Reset tool care if it. But I logged into Samsung and here may have been an auto restore option...
