Uniden DC4 Dash Cam SD card

I recently purchased a 128 GB SD card from Best Buy for the DC4 I also purchased from Best Buy. I went to install the new SD and it told me to reformat the new card which I did on my Macbook Pro. I installed the card back into the DC4 and it told me to reformat the SD again.
Am I doing something wrong or is there a solution for this?

No, you have done nothing wrong.  Most stand-alone cameras such as game cameras and dashcams want to format the storage chips themselves.  This allows the camera to establish its own particular file structure on the device, in addition to formatting it.

Look in the manual for the dashcam and it should explain how to format a storage chip while in the device.

It sounds like the format that the DC4 uses is not readable on OSX and vice versa.

Format the SD Card on the DC4 .. then on OSX start up Disk Utility BEFORE you plug in the SD Card .. OSX should be able at least to identify how the card is formatted ..

You could TRY formatting the card as MS-DOS FAT using Disk Utility on OSX and see if the Uniden DC4 can read that.  MS-DOS FAT is the most common universal format and probably your best bet.  DO NOT use the Apple OSX Extended format as that definitely will NOT work.

The user manual for the Uniden does not indicate what precise format it requires
