How upgrade the ESX box from 5.0 to 5.5 version, on live server.

Hi My Dear Gurus,

I need to know, How we are upgrading the Live esx server 5.0 to 5.5
version? and what are all the things we need to follow to upgrade it?
what are the prerequisites for this?
please explain.

I any video link is available kindly provide.

I am planning to upgrade it in production environment.
please help.

HOW TO: Upgrade from VMware vSphere Hypervisor ESXi 5.1 to VMware vSphere Hypervisor ESXi 5.5 for FREE

It's the same procedure and process, as upgrading from 5.1!

You need to make sure that your servers are certified for 5.5. see here

Check the VMware Hardware Compatability Lists HCL here

The VMware Hardware Compatibility List is the detailed lists showing actual vendor devices that are either physically tested or are similar to the devices tested by VMware or VMware partners. Items on the list are tested with VMware products and are known to operate correctly.Devices which are not on the list may function, but will not be supported by VMware.

If you have vCenter Server 5.0, this must be upgraded to 5.5 FIRST!
