what is the performance monitor? How can we use it?
please show me how to set the performance counters.

Performance Monitor in Server 2003 is started in the run menu by typing perfmon.

Perfmon4
By default it will show 3 counters - Memory, Disk, and CPU.  Which monitors paging, disk queues, and CPU time respective.  You can click the + icon to add additional counters as needed.
