Folder, File Role based access

I have a Drupal site. The server that the Drupal site is on has several folders that I'd like to impliment Role based access to. The roles could be impliment to the folders, and roles also for designated files within the folders.

The folders are added to the server through a FTP process and not using Drupal.

How would I impliment the Role based access?

1. Need to know what version of Windows Server.

Also, RBAC only works to the directory level.  There is no RBAC for files.

After setting up RBAC, you could then configure virtual directories in IIS FTP.

Though, I would stress caution in doing this.  You run a risk of potentially causing issues with you Drupal instance.  Also, improper implementation may also affect IIS.

I have not tested an RBAC implementation with FTP running on top of it while Drupal is running on top of that.
