Fiber Patch Panel
Hello Experts,
I want to have a fiber patch panel installed in the IT room. I need 16 LC ports and I think 1 LC port has the RX/TX ports that connects to one SFP in the switch. Am I correct?
I need 16 LC Ports, I want to know what type of backbone fiber I should use between 4 floors. Other floors only need 6 LC connections.
I also want to know the diameter of the conduit that will accommodate this fiber cable to run from the IT room to the other floors.
I am sorry I don't know much and I need some guidance from you experts. Thank you

Thanks for the comments.
I agree to consult with professional but these are initial requirement buildup and I needed to know the specs.

What is the CORE, when they say the fiber cable is 16 core?
16 core means 16 fiber optic cables inside of one cable. the cores can be single mode or multi-mode. for 16 ports you need 32 cores (16 transmit + 16 receive)

Hi David,
I need 32 core FIber back bone that can extend to 4 floors through a riser. Do you know of any good vendor that supply fiber cables I can work with. Most likely I will need multimode as vertically the length does not exceed 33FT.
Thanks,

Singlemode SFPs will work only singlemode SFPs on the other side and you must use singlemode fiber for those (the same case is with mutimode SFPs and mutlimode fiber - the same SFP type must from both side and also must match fiber type). The second criteria is distance. For example you can use multimode fiber if distance is up do 550 m with OM4 cables with 1Gb speed, if distance is > 550 m you must use singlemode fiber and SFPs.
Multimode is cheaper, so use it wherever you can, where you can't use multimode - use singlemode.
