We have one unit IBM DSA3512 connected to our file server,We are use out our space in f drive and we decide to expand the array to increase the capacity

1.      During the rebuild, will it affect the backup job?
2.      Should there be lost of data during the rebuild, will it affect our live data in ‘F’ Drive or it will only affect our backup data in ‘H’ Drive?

Expanding an array is not the same risk as rebuilding an array from a failed disk.

During expansion parity is preserved so if a disk fails your data remains intact. When rebuilding an array from a failed disk parity is already lost so should another disk fail the data is lost.

Expanding one array won't affect the other one, it probably won't even affect performance since although one controller will be working hard during the expansion the other isn't affected and you most likely have one array owned by one controller and the other array owned by the other.
