Microsoft Image Composite Editor

Does the above software have the same features and functionality as Image Composer? I can only see references to photo stitching in the programme description.

no it is not anywhere near like Image Composer. Microsoft has orphaned many of their image editors over time. Download Microsoft Image Composer if you really need it, it was last on Frontpage 2000 install CD's

Many thanks. I have used both Frontpage and Image composer in the past - and Image composer became a must have. I have the CD, although I now have a laptop without a cd drive and have been told that the version i have won't work with Windows 10 - is this the case or has a patch been made available?

Just for your info, I wondered if Image Composer might have been amongst the additional programs in the Frontpage folders of my MS Office 2002 Premium CD1.  Unfortunately not.  They included Microsoft Photo Editor v 3.01, not Image Composer.

One of the issues you have with older programs in modern versions of Windows are the old 32-bit style *.HLP files and their companion *.CNT files that relied on WinHlp32.exe in previous versions of Windows.  Patches were released to allow post-XP versions of Windows to read older Windows Help files:

Vista - http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=5143
Server 2008 - http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=19771
Server 2008 R2 - http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=4424
Windows 7 - http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=91
Windows 8 and 8.1 (but not "Pro" version) - http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=35449

I am pretty sure that Microsoft did not release such a compatibility patch for Windows 10.  The Microsoft Image Composer uses the old *.HLP file.

There are also other incompatibility issues, especially with programs dating back so far as the one you are seeking to run in Windows 10.  There's only one way to find out whether the upload offered by David Johnson will work, and that is to try and see.  There is no installer, but if it is going to run it will run from its own folder.  One thing you may have to do after you unzip the program files to their own folder is either copy the folder temporarily to a FAT32 formatted hard drive and then back again to your Win10 PC, or else Right-Click on each of the files, choose "Properties", click the "Unblock" button in the properties dialog, and click "Apply".
