Editing a video
I have a 4 minute video with a text word near one corner. Is there a way to remove that text?

It is a WMV file. I also have it saved as an MP4.
Crop may not be the solution since the cropping might cut out the legs of the performer in the video.
I can post a similar video here if EE accepts the right format.

you may be able to 'black' it out.... but this is a bit out of my range

This image is good enough. It has text on the bottom right corner. Visualize this as a 4 minute video. On the left bottom corner is the word that I'd want to cover up. Maybe cover up is a solution. I've never edited a video except cutting or splicing and neither of them would work. i do not know the size of this image so if it's huge, I apologize.
Here is a video, and you can see the VCR times as it plays. How would those numbers be removed with ruining the video.

You would need to use a professional video editor like Cyberlink Power Director or Adobe After Effects, or Sony Vegas

Merete The video from your link is not a desired video. I posted that as an "example only" of a video with some numbers in the right hand bottom corner.

Yep I know Paul, but those are nickg5 only choices without purchasing a video editor like sony Vegas which In May 2016, MAGIX purchased the majority of Sony Creative Software products
or the others I mentioned windows moviemaker does not have this feature, then he would need to be taught how to do that lol, he may not have realized that using the region is different from cropping
I was going to add once the red line region is selected press the red dot to start recording the red line flashes and then press the stop
