You have to use the IP address of the machine for others to connect to your site. 'localhost' and '127.0.0.1' and '::1' are ONLY accessible on the machine they're on. And every machine has it's own 'localhost'.

My laptop is a DHCP - so the ip is always changing. Can you please elaborate in more detail or perhaps provide a website which shows how to achieve this? Thanks
If you want others to access your web site, it is much better if you switch to a fixed IP. I have set up all of my 14 computers here that have web sites with a fixed IP address so they can be found. I don't use 'localhost' for anything if I can help it because many things like external access do not work when you use it.
You could use the 'hostname' of your computer and I have that setup also. In either case, you will have to adapt your Wordpress installation because Wordpress include the 'server' in it's info in the database.
