URGENT: Enter safe mode on 2012 R2

After installing BitDefender my system locked down in a restart loop. I need to enter Safe Mode and uninstall it, or enable unsigned driver installation.

I booted from DVD, and tried these two after adding controller drivers:

bcdedit /set {bootmgr} displaybootmenu yes
bcdedit /set {bootmgr} timeout 10

Only the second one works, the first one gives me:

The device is not valid as specified.

I can normally see the drives and paritions in diskpart.

Pls. help, I am in a deep s**t.

imo, it would be better to restore the system from the last full backup.  Once most antiviruses are installed, it is impossible to get them completely out of the system and it will probably cause grief again in the future.
