Hi Experts,

Recently, I have downloaded (SQL SERVER DEVELOPER edition 2016) beside (SQL SERVER 2012 Express).
When I right click on any table inside (DEVELOPER edition 2016) to see it in design mode I got this message:
the backend version is not supported to design database diagrams

Thanks a lot In advance.

Yup, you cannot use this feature of SSMS 2016 with your SQL Server Express version.

You have it already installed, cause you said you're using SQL Server Developer 2016..

btw, what is the verson of your SSMS? Maybe you have forgotten to install the 2016 version. Just use you install media of the dev edition. Otherwise it could be downloaded here.

I download it from the given link and when I tried to install it, it gives me this error:

SETUP FAILED
the file directory is corrupted and unreadable 80070570

I move the file to another location on external HDD but same issue still exists.

Download it again.  But as I said, it is also part of your install media.
