Has anyone pulled data into SharePoint Online (365) from SAP using an API? Any recommendations on where to start, what to think about, and what to watch out for?

Any tips appreciated!

I haven't done any integration with SAP and SharePoint Online (Office 365's version), but I have with some other databases and the one thing I can tell you to watch out for is that SharePoint Online is NOT SharePoint Server.  There are many functions which are not made available in Office 365's version because you are using a shared environment of all Office 365 tenants -- so they try to limit anything that hogs the shared resources.

As far as I know regarding SAP, you need to use a 3rd-Party connector to get the job done.  I looked over Layer2's offering and it seems as though they guide you through the process quite well.

I would definitely consider using something like that because while you may (or may not) find someone on here that has done it once or twice... they deal with doing this type of integration every day.

Good Luck!
