What is a Pedal Motor?

A typical Minivan has a driver memory seat.  There is a motor that moves seat horizontally.  There are other motors, i.e. recliner motor that reclines seat back and forth.

A typical truck has a Pedal Motor on driver memory seat.  What is the need of a Pedal Motor?  What does it move?

The pedal motor moves the pedal assembly (accelerator, brake and clutch) closer to the driver, or farther from the driver.  You might want to use it if you have extremely long or extremely short legs, for example.  Or if you prefer to be far back from the steering wheel, but when you're that far back your legs can't reach the pedals... so you use the pedal motor to move the pedals closer to you.
