Reset ActiveSync device PIN without wiping device (Exchange 2013)

A customer of ours is running Exchange 2013, which staffmembers link their phones and tablets to via ActiveSync.  One staffmember has forgotten the device PIN he uses to unlock the phone, but doesn't want to wipe it.  Can an administrator reset the PIN/clear it without wiping the whole device?

You can recover the device password, but 'just' if that was configured to do so before.
