I just tried my first installation of SQL 2016 and there is no option to install the management tools. Surely they must still be needed. Where do I find the tools?

With SQL Server 2016, SSMS is delivered separately. You can download the last version from here.

For my point of view is an intelligent move. Must of the times we only want to install the SSMS and not the full SQL Server engine. Why should we bring all package just for chose one option to install?
Also, now we don't need anymore one SSMS for SQL Server Express and another to others editions. And also for Azure we'll have an unique SSMS for all editions.

I wish they had made some announcement about this. You install a piece of software the same way for years and then suddenly a vital piece is missing. This is not a good thing.
