vsphere data centrer shutdown
Client had cluster with HA and DRS enabled. I performed test shutdown procedure with an the intention of shutting down the data center one day in the following order.
Disabled HA and DRS.
Power down all the VMs
Enter esxi host into maintenance mode and noticed all the shutdown VMs moved to next available Esxi hosts.
I think at the end all the shutdown vms will be moved into only one Esxi host, that is, the last
Do I have to enable HA and DRS before power on the VMC so the VMS will be placed in an appropriate Esxi host?
or
Better leave HA and DRS (do not disable at all before power down the vms)
Shutdown the vms
Enter into maintenance mode (let the VMs to move into the last Esxi host).
Power down the lat esxi after entering to mnt mode.
power on esxi hosts
start the VSA.
Let the vms to move with DRS settings?

Not sure what happened there....
You can always power off VMs, and just shutdown host.
