Publishing room booking calendar exchange 2013

Hi,

I would like to see a calendar of all resource mailboxes in exchange (or a group of them)

Is there any out of the box way to see a single calendar with multiply room mail boxes so users can at a glance see availability with out having to add each one by hand?

How many resource mailboxes on target?

  • If there are 10 to 20 resource mailboxes, you can create a DL and add all the resource mailboxes. Select this DL and expand while checking the availability.
  • To send the invite, user has to remove the DL from invite and mark it only to available resource mailbox.

Adding too many mailboxes for availability query might cause load on Exchange servers, depends on the version in production. And user might see outlook RPC dialogue box at the bottom saying, outlook is retrieving.....

You can create a shared mailbox and add all the rooms there.

Veerappan this does not give a shared calendar and we want to be able to export the calendar view to a web site.

Xtermie, how would that provide a single calendar, the rooms still don't create a calendar entry in the shared mail box calander

There is no native out of the box features.

I can think of 2 method

1. Outlook overlay view.
this means you can see different calendar at the same time. Though, I think you will hit some limtiation or your Outlook will start running like a dog.

2. what you can do is use sharepoint add all of them and put overlay on it
I don't know much about sharepoint but i have seen it before so imagine, if the account has the rights, it will able to perform such activities. Don't count me on that one. Ask a sharepoint question instead :)

Hi Jian,

Indeed if only the communication team had listened and gone with share-point for the internet solution and not some third party that does not integrate with any thing.

My current though it to set up a rule on all the room system to forward meeting requests to a "shared" clanader. As from what I know adding a room mailbox to a meeting is just sending it a calendar request which it accepts.

if this is forwarded to a central mail box then there would be a single calendar with all the booking on it.
