Sync (copy?) iPhone iOS 10 camera(s) photos to macOS Sierra Photos App

How do I Sync (copy?) iPhone iOS 10 camera(s) photos to macOS Sierra (10.12) Photos App?

I Use Photoshop Elements 13 & Lightroom 5 to edit photos for SmugMug etc.

I am not interested in Photos face/naming ability or any other decisions made by macOS.

I just want all photos taken with iOS 10 iPhone to be available in macOS. iPhone is near Mac so common wireless (and wired) networks are available.

I have iCloud subscription. iBooks/Google does not show Photos user manual.

I know I can do this manually (iExplorer for example) but auto sync would be best.

I do this myself :)

Make sure your devices are on WiFi.

Go to your Macbook.
Open Photos.
Go to Preferences.
In the iCloud tab, ensure 'iCloud Photo Library' is checked and toggle the 'Download Originals to this Mac'.
(optional: enable My Photo Stream & iCloud Photo Sharing.)

On your iPhone, go to Settings.
Photos & Camera
Ensure 'iCloud Photo Library' is toggle on.
Check Optimize iPhone Storage. (Basically, hard copies are not stored on your iPhone's physical storage, which is pretty nice!)
(optional: enable My Photo Stream & iCloud Photo Sharing.)

There will be a necessary 'sync' time to go through.  For example, on your iPhone, in the Photos & Camera section, if you took a new picture, it will soon show itself uploading to iCloud (if you're connected to WiFi).

Let me know if you have any questions.

Also, if you run out of free storage (5GB) you can upgrade your capacity by going to
Settings
General
iCloud
Manage Storage
Change Storage Plan
Select a larger capacity.

I use the 50GB for 0.99 a month.
