DisplayPort Signal Spontaneously Cuts Out

I am running a system with Windows 10. The computer has both HDMI and DisplayPort outputs. I am running the system out to two Dell P2415AQ monitors in extended mode. I have tried DisplayPort out to Monitor 1 daisy chained to Monitor 2 in the past and after a period of time ranging from a few seconds to several minutes the monitors lose signal and go into power save mode. I then tried to run one with HDMI and the other with DisplayPort, still extended, and have had the same problem only with the monitor connected to the DisplayPort.

I am losing productivity each day struggling with this as I need to use both monitors in extended mode to get my work accomplished.

Greatly appreciate help with this!

Thanks,

This is the kind of issue that is almost certainly a hardware problem.  Assuming that you have already tried swapping the DisplayPort line to both monitors so that you know it's not a monitor issue, then the problem is in either the display adapter card or in the DisplayPort cable.

Thanks Dr. Klahn. I know it is not monitors for the reasons you mention above. I updated the display adapter driver and that did not solve. I will pick up a new DisplayPort Cable and check that next. Thanks.
