Link Aggregation

I have an HP Procurve switch that I would like to connect to an Adtran 1638P. Is it possible to create link aggregation between the two for increased bandwidth and redundancy. If so....what would be the sample commands that I would use on both sides? I have tried about everything.....thanks

interface port-channel 1
  no shutdown
interface switchport 0/1
  no shutdown
  channel-group 1 mode on
interface switchport 0/2
