Are you talking about the configuration (setup) or Management Studio (to use the instance)?

SSMS supports to provide the necessary parameters directly for opening a Query Window. For an overview call
C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SQL Server\130\Tools\Binn\ManagementStudio\ssms.exe -?

(130 => MSSQL 2016 - change accordingly to your release).
