That is normally a function of the printer driver.

Printer drivers for modern Xerox, modern HP Ink Jet and modern HP Laser Jet printers give Windows 10 messages for Out of paper, Completed, Adjustments taking place, and Printer errors. The messages pop up in the notification area.

So what you want in Windows 10 is already part of Windows 10.

For any app (Word, Excel, Power Point, Access (I assume), QuickBooks and others, the printer information windows are a function of the printer and not the application.

What printer?
