Noise Floor on Recorded Audio

I have recorded hours of audio to upload to a website. I've had no problems before, but now they're rejecting my audio files saying it's due to Noise Floor.

How can I fix the Noise Floor in an existing audio file?

did you record directly from you PC audio card or through the mic?

noise floor is extraneous sound recorded at the same time as the audio recording.

you MAY be able to correct this using Audacity®, a free audio editing app: http://www.audacityteam.org/

I recorded through a microphone. A very nice microphone. They accepted all my other books, and I did this one the same.
