Does use of MicroStrategy.NET require VB.NET and aspx pages?

I read that the only way to use MicroStrategy.NET is with VB.NET and aspx pages. Is this still true today?

It looks like the pages they provide you are in a VB format with ascx (user controls).  

But they also provide the API so you can extract data and present that data in any .net Page.
