I just installed SSMS 2016 and when I launch it, I get a Visual Stdio - License prerelease software - This License has expired and shuts down SSMS. I'm using developer edition SQL Server 2016. Not sure what license has expired. I have uninstalled SQL server and SSMS and re-installed - but this message won't go away.

SSMS 2016 is free so it doesn't need any license.
Can you provide exactly the error message?

Uninstall the SSMS that you have and install this:

Thanks for all replies. The issue was related to Visual Studio installation I believe. I ran maintenance on on all the Visual Studio Tools and that fixed the problem.
