I need to speak for a video and scroll the words on the video, like a teleprompter.

I have a Mac but have not done an real video editing before. I do work comfortably with Audacity and have created and edited numerous MP3's.

What can you suggest for a plan for this part of my video? I mean the scrolling script portion...

Thanks

These would be called captions newbieweb, Audacity is not suitable for this it's for audio only
a different route is a tool called  zoomit,
You play your video and add text draw on the screen over the video on your desktop
https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/zoomit
And of course there video

Otherwise you'll need a simple video editor that has captions- text with different effects, your Mac should have Imovie right,
https://itunes.apple.com/au/app/imovie/id377298193?mt=8
Watch this youtube video at full screen, how to add captions,
iMovie: Add Captions
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MpL_Capu15c
now pause it and look in the bottom right for the different themes for your text ie captions, there is one there called scrolling captions, there are different types where the text can slide across the bottom test a few different types out
I zoomed and snapped a shot for you
scrolling captionsIts the same as in windows moviemaker  in  windows

Here's a another, do a search on youtube for more
