remote desktop services 2012 R2 HA

Hi Experts,

So we have a fully operational remote desktop services environment with full HA.

What isn't understood yet is if we should be able to view the remote desktop services deployment from the second connection broker.

At the minute, it can only be viewed from the first connection broker.

Run below command on RDCB server to check which server its showing active

Get-RDActiveManagementServer | fl *

The above command will tell you which server is active

further you can run below command
Set-RDActiveManagementServer -ManagementServer ""
where is the round robin name of RDCB cluster

This will allow you to connect to anyone server for any config changes, however for clients both will service actively...

with above command you should connect to RDCB cluster URL (DNS round robin name) and not to actual hostname of RDCB servers

in that case anyone server would be active for RDCB management so that modifications would be done on one server and eventually it will get replicated (visible) to other member because both connected to same database, however both should service request
if any one server get failed, 2nd one can be automatically made active for management
this is just like Adfs farm with windows internal database where Adfs console is visible on only primary server and secondary server did not show up any console, however both servers service client requests

MS has enabled active / active rdcb cluster in 2012 server as opposed to 2008 r2 rdcb server cluster where only one server is active at a time

on the second connection broker

Server manager Dashboard | Add other servers to manage

Add each of the other servers in the farm

in server manager, it only lists proper FQDN of eac hCB.  I understand that all the endpoints use the DNS round robin names.

Maybe this is a bug in Windows?
