software license audit

Hi! I have a question about lisence and software audit tool. I have used a free Spiceworks but it can`t provide lisence audit as far as i know. I used a trial version of Total Network Inventory and it scanned 99.9% of the licenses, including 3rd parties like 3D modelling software. Is there any freeware option for a license audit? Or am i doing it wrong in Spiceworks?

Hi,
I am using Spiceworks and it gives me any Software audits reports I need. Of course I did some SQL based reports for my network.  I copied out Spiceworks DB (spiceworks_prod.db) and by SQLite Browser checked structure of DB and tables.
Included reports for SW inventory are:
Software Compliance
Installed Applications
Applications by Computer

Where can i check Spiceworks software audit tool? I must have missed it. Also, does it check current versions of applications?

1)  in Inventory module of Spiceworks, Settings and Device scanning you must configure Device scanning and scan schedules type FULL (in this type is included also SW inventory
2) in Inventory module and menu My Networks/Software you have complete license inventory view
and also you can add number of licenses of every software you own

Thanks! Any other software i can use? Is Lansweeper any good or Spiceworks is the best?

I cannot tell you the Spiceworks is the best but it is most comprehensive suite. It connect device and software inventory, history, purchases, alerting and Helpdesk functionality so you have complete overview of your IS. And all of this is agentless. I think you can find better software for SW Inventory.
In the past I worked with GFI LanGuard (very good SW).
