Public Folder not showing in address list.

I created a public folder and granted several users access.  When they browse to Public Folders, they can see it.  When the users try and add the public folder to their accounts as a second mailbox, they get an error that the name cannot be resolved and the name cannot be matched to a name in the address list.

I'm thinking they should be able to add this public folder to their accounts list as it's mail enabled, and I'm also thinking it should show int he address list.  Now this is a public folder that is mail enabled and not a shared mailbox.  maybe that's my problem....

A mail enabled public folder should show in the GAL but may be hidden from the GAL by default.  Run this command to check...

Get-MailPublicFolder | ft -auto name,hidden*

If the value is 'false', then you probably need to update the GAL and download the updated GAL in Outlook.

Also, public folders are not able to be added to an Outlook profile like a mailbox because it is not a mailbox.  That is what the Public Folders list is for in Outlook.  If you want several users to use it like a mailbox, the you should implement a shared mailbox.
