Renaming of WordPress Database

Hi All

I want to rename the database and username of a WordPress site.  Although I will backup first I want to make sure it's done right.  Am I right by saying this can be done in 3 steps.

1) Rename the database in the My SQL section of the hosting package
2) Assign a user to the database
3) Change these lines to the correct DB name in wp-config.php

/** The name of the database for WordPress */
define('DB_NAME', 'z49te592_wp639');

/** MySQL database username */
define('DB_USER', 'z49te592_wp639');

Open in new window

I want to do this as I am adding more and more sites and some of the naming conventions are not very good and want to keep track of what relates to each-other.

Thank you in advance for your assistance

That should be all you need to do to ensure WP continues to work.
