Quickbooks: how to prevent network users from copying or deleting the QBW file?
Hello,
Does anyone have working knowledge of setting up Quickbooks in a domain/network environment, where the users that have access to the QB share still cannot copy or delete the QBW file?
https://community.spiceworks.com/topic/834011-how-to-prevent-users-from-deleting-company-file-in-quickbooks-enterprise , the only solution is really a non-solution: "So basically the answer is you cannot prevent someone from being able to delete the company file as it is required that everyone have read/write and delete permissions. The only way to protect the file is to make sure someone is logged into the Quickbooks accessing that company file all the times. The file cannot be deleted if it is open or in use. In fact the only recommendation support could give me was to make sure I do regular backups."
Thanks!

Has anyone locked down or addressed the concern stated originally, or used any third party software; perhaps some kind of alerting software if a user 'copies' the entire QBW file over the network, etc?
Thanks.
