Hi, I'm on Google webmaster, looking at crawl errors for a website that's been up for years. I have a lot of crawl errors like this, where people on other websites, or my blog, have mentioned and linked to a product that has since been taken off the menu.
crawl errors
Question is, are those a problem in Google's eyes? Should I be attempting to remove these old links? Will it hurt our SEO?

Thanks.

The ideal way of dealing with it would be to simply redirect the user to the home page, or even better, to a search results page for a search relating to what they were trying to view. This may be more effort that what it's worth though! Another option could be to configure the webserver to do a 301 redirect for such pages so Google would know not to index them.
